GALT MUSEUM & ARCHIVES Did you know that during World War 2, Camp 133 – a Prisoner of War camp located in Lethbridge – had a population that was almost the same as the City itself! We are looking for volunteer roving interpreters to enhance the visitor’s experience to the museum, with our temporary POW exhibit that will open in May. The position’s times are flexible, with the museum being open from 10 am – 6 pm, 7 days/week through summer. Great opportunity for students looking to build their resumes or seeking volunteer work for credit opportunities at school. LETHBRIDGE THERAPEUTIC RIDING ASSOCIATION Are you a horse lover looking for a great way to share your knowledge and appreciation of our equine friends? Therapeutic and able-bodied riding volunteers are required to assist with horseback riding lessons, saddling horses, leading horses and providing physical and emotional support as a side-walker for clients with disabilities. We are looking for friendly and outgoing volunteers during daytime hours or evenings from 6-8 pm. Volunteers are important to us. Please contact Marj at 328-2165. HELEN SCHULER COULEE CENTRE Got outdoor fever? The Helen Schuler Coulee Centre is looking for volunteers help clean the coulees in the 1st annual, city-wide coulee clean-up. All you need is a pair of closed-toe shoes, a water bottle and the desire to protect the environment! The clean-up is scheduled to take place between May 10 and May 31. GOOD SAMARITAN SOCIETY Do you have the unique ability to brighten up a room with your warm personality, sparkling conversation, or just a smile? Come share an hour or two with residents of Park Meadows Village and Cottages in North Lethbridge, West Highlands Center or Garden Vista in Magrath! Friendly visit volunteers are needed to spend some time with residents that have Alzheimer’s. Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation - CIBC Run for the Cure Come out and help make the Run for the Cure a success in Lethbridge! A volunteer run co-director is needed to work with the existing run co-ordinator to help plan, coordinate and promote the Run for the Cure. Volunteer team coordinators are also required to assist with the event and associated community events. The 2008 run is scheduled for October 5. The Canadian Red Cross is looking for volunteer administrative clerks to assist with the medical equipment loan service. Your commitment will ensure clients receive appropriate medical equipment in a timely manner. Training is provided and day-time schedules can be established to accommodate your schedule.
