PROMOTION OF VOLUNTEERISM
Volunteer Lethbridge raises awareness of the value of volunteerism, encourages people to volunteer, provides information about volunteerism, and recognizes the contribution of volunteers. We do this by initiating and supporting mass media campaigns to promote volunteering through newspaper columns, television and radio shows, and public service announcements.
On behalf of our member agencies, we work with the media, business community, educational institutions, government agencies and the public to promote volunteerism. These efforts attract new volunteers & help retain current volunteers. Volunteer Lethbridge strives to inform the community about what and how much volunteers contribute, thus increasing the appreciation of their role.
Weekly Volunteer Column
We produce a weekly Volunteer Opportunity Column exclusively for our member agencies that appears in The Lethbridge Herald and The Southern Sun Times. The Column is also distributed to other media, business, educational institutions and training outlets.
Agency Profiles
Exclusive Member Agency Profiles are also published in The Lethbridge Herald on a weekly basis, featured as "Agency of the Week".
Television Segments
Dory Rossiter hosts ‘Volunteer Lethbridge’ segments on CTV Television promoting our member agencies and their services.
